Practice Type
Disconnected Impervious
Project DescriptionUsing nature, TNC partnered with the parish to create one of Detroit’s largest GSI projects at a faith-based institution. This retrofit keeps millions of gallons out of the sewer system annually and manages runoff from 1.4 impervious acres. The bioretention gardens add native plants and greenspace to the parking lot and earn the parish a 51% green credit on their drainage charge. Thanks to the Ralph C. Wilson, Jr. & DTE Foundations for funding and to the Garden Club for stewardship and upkeep!
